Goal : $50,000.00
$60,820.00
One in ten children will experience sexual abuse before the age of 18. To solve this problem, Holly’s House has partnered with a national, evidence-based prevention program called Think First Stay Safe. Through this program, offered completely free to schools, students PreK - 6th grade learn in a fun and engaging way: - Body ownership and boundaries - The top predatory lures - Online safety - How to identify “stormy weather people” and trusted adults More than 85,000 students have received this program through our partnerships with local schools in the last nine years. But with 1 in 10 students at risk, we want to reach every child possible. 22,000 children are enrolled in the EVSC alone. 2,200 will be sexually abused before the age of 18. Most perpetrators are family members or family friends, who have had access to children during the pandemic. Likewise, we know that students have been without access to teachers and other trusted adults in the last year. Prevention education provides the words children need to share their truths, identity trusted adults and move forward. Help us reach our goal of preventing abuse before it begins for an additional 2,500 students through the Walking for Dreams fundraising event.
