St. John the Baptist Ministry works to provide food, medical necessities, education and security for the people of Haiti. Not only are the Haiti parishes struggling to survive but also the orphanages are at risk of closing.
According to the World Bank, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Sixty percent of the population lives below the poverty level and one third face crisis or emergency level food insecurity. Political and civil unrest comes amid exacerbating poverty and disease.
