SEND is a non-profit community development corporation created by residents to revitalize the near southeast side of Indianapolis and to enhance the quality of life of its diverse spectrum of residents. SEND accomplishes this mission through five areas of activity:
-Creating, maintaining and sustaining quality affordable housing which enhances the historic fabric of the neighborhood and empowers the poor through the creation of community and family assets.
-Expanding and creating opportunities for neighborhood businesses to grow and prosper
-Partnering with other organizations to create and implement programs which enable residents to develop the capacity to succeed in a changing society.
-Beautifying and enhancing public areas and facilities, as well as upgrading the efficiency of the neighborhood's infrastructure.
-Serving as an advocate for the interests of the entire community.

Donations of the following levels help sustain SEND’s affordable housing, economic development, and community building work on the near southeast side of Indianapolis. Please note that these are examples of ways SEND uses donated funds to serve our community and that a donation through Walking for Dreams will be utilized where funds are most needed in the organization:
$25 – New bathroom faucet for a southeast neighbor
$50 – A one hour staff-facilitated community meeting
$75 - Interpretation services for SEND's non-English-speaking neighbors
$100 – New toilet for a SEND home
$250 - Rental truck for Twin Aire food distribution
$500 – Gutter replacement for a southeast neighbor
$1000 – Entry door replacement for one of SEND’s commercial properties
$1500 - One month maintenance for the Fountain Square fountains and plaza
