Join Indiana Family to Family (INF2F) for one of our most impactful fundraising events of the year! Walking for Dreams is Sunday, May 22. Please, join us at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, walk for INF2F virtually, or donate to our mission!
Indianapolis families raising children with additional physical, medical, developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs must navigate a complex system of services and supports for their child. The child's success depends considerably on parents who are aware of information, resources, and programs pertinent to their child at different stages of development. In 2021, INF2F assisted nearly 3,000 of these families statewide.
We walk May 22 to raise funds for services provided by INF2F Resource Specialists and Project Coordinators, who are all parents of children with additional health and educational needs. The Resource Specialist makes initial contact with the family then continues communicates through a series of follow-up calls and emails. This ensures that the family’s initial concerns are addressed as well as additional topics families of children with additional needs must consider. Topics include health care financing, transition to adulthood, family support, special education, safety, and recreation.
A key goal of family-to-family and parent-to-parent programming is building family leaders by teaching families to advocate for themselves and their child with additional needs. While every family is different, peer support like that offered by INF2F guides families from isolation to empowerment to advocacy.
The cost for our staff to serve a family for one year is $250.00. Your donation ensures these critical supports remain free to Indiana families raising children with additional needs.
